ABOUT US
My husband, Edmund, and I have committed our adult lives to the preservation and responsible breeding of the Alaskan Malamute. We are Master Breeders and members in good standing with the Canadian Kennel Club, the Alaskan Malamute Club of America, the Alaskan Malamute Club of Canada and the Charlotte County Kennel Club. We volunteer our time to these organizations, and to the welfare of the breed as a whole, having provided long term foster care of Alaskan Malamutes in need over the years. I work as a dog-groomer, conformation show handler and instructor. I am an AMCA approved mentor for Judges Education and am currently working on my judging license.

Who We Are
Our Mission
Located in beautiful New Brunswick, Canada, Spiritrun Permanently Registered Alaskan Malamutes has been dedicated to the breed preservation and heritage of the Alaskan Malamute since 1996. We are Canadian Kennel Club Master Breeders.

Our mission with Spiritrun Alaskan Malamutes is to preserve the unique qualities of this magnificent northern breed, while striving for constant improvement of the most desirable traits within the lines we include in our breeding program.
We have been fortunate to have been mentored by some of the great breeders of our time and are honoured that they have trusted us with their bloodlines through the years. We are committed to carrying forward the same commitment to excellence within our own breeding program and those with whom we collaborate. We strive to produce Alaskan Malamutes who exude beautiful breed type, are structurally and mentally sound, will live long and healthy lives, and have good-natured temperaments that enable them to integrate into an active home in today's complex, modern society. We breed with strict adherence to the Official Breed Standard for The Alaskan Malamute.
Our Alaskan Malamutes are active and successful in conformation, the dog-powered pulling sports, agility, rally, sprinter (fast cat), backpacking, and other performance sports, but more importantly, they excel as wonderful companions. We consider this breed a "lifestyle breed", neither a lawn ornament nor couch potato (though many of our malamutes with strongly disagree with that last statement), so a family that is active and loves the outdoors in breed appropriate weather is a family we consider ideal.
Our puppies are raised indoors in our home with attention to socialization while they are growing in our care. It is important to us that they transition into their new homes and lifestyles with ease, a transition which is important to both the new puppy and family, alike. We produce an average of 1-2 litters per year. With that, we have a dedicated waiting list and strict screening protocol. Our dogs are a lifetime commitment and passion for us and we expect a 15+ year commitment from our puppy families. However, if things do not turn out, our puppies come back to us -- always.
By screening potential families with great care, we strive to reduce the occurrence of a placement not working out. To that end, we ask respectfully that you reach out if you are a serious inquiry only. If we mutually agree that a Spiritrun puppy is right for you, we can begin building the relationship which will last the lifetime of your Spiritrun puppy and beyond. We appreciate your patience in our process, and we are confident that the way in which we have worked over the past decades is a win-win for puppy and new family, alike.
